Sports on Lake Reschen
Kitespot, Fishing and more
Lake Reschen is one of the most famous reservoirs in South Tyrol and is known for the iconic tower that lies in the middle of the lake. In 1950, the entire village of Graun and the majority of the village of Reschen were flooded, and as a result, 163 houses and 523 hectares of cultivated land were destroyed. All that remained was the church tower, which juts out Lake Reschen and is a well-known landmark of the Reschenpass holiday region. Here there are attractive opportunities for summer holidays to suit all preferences:
Between July and early October, our guests can look forward to a special holiday experience: a boat trip on Lake Reschen onboard MS Hubertus. For 69 years, this admirable ship was used for passenger transport on the Bavarian Tegernsee Lake, until it was acquired by the lakeside community of Graun. Ever since, the MS Hubertus Interregio does its daily rounds on Lake Reschen, delighting holidaymakers during the summer. Information about travel times can be obtained at the pier in Graun or from the tourist information offices in St. Valentin on the Haide and Reschen.
At the beginning of July, the sailboats are brought into Lake Reschen, and a regatta takes place towards the end of the month. This fabulous event can also be enjoyed from the distance during a walk around the lake. Independent sailing is possible on Lake Reschen only for members of the sailing club.
